In mid August, Round Hill Studio will be hosting “Untamed”, a group show featuring pencil drawings by James Axon, glass art by Colette Samson and, leaf art by Jeanette Wieckhorst.
This group show will explore and express thoughts in an unrestricted, unconfined and sometimes contrasting presentation of ideas regarding the untamed in life and nature.
James Axon’s fascination with natural history and wildlife is presented in highly detailed drawings. “Growing up in a household that included several dogs, a chipmunk, snakes, sparrow-hawks, buzzards, and an owl that lived on the newel post of the stairs, it was probably inevitable that I would develop an interest in natural history.”
Colette Samson is a glass artist, operating Image Glass Studio in Shubenacadie East, NS. She works primarily in fused glass techniques such as kiln casting, fritography, kiln carving and sculpture. Her work can be found in private collections nationally and internationally, both in use and on display.
Jeanette Wieckhorst’s appreciation for the outdoors and all things living and growing has been with her from an early age. She incorporates scenes captured and seen in nature by cutting silhouettes into leaves.
Untamed will be on display at Round Hill Studio from August 14th until September 10th, 2020. The entire exhibit will also be available to view and purchase through roundhillstudio.com
