Co-authors, artists, and married couple, James Lightle (retired Canadian Veteran, injured during the Afghanistan Conflict), and Jaime Lee Lightle are very excited to announce that they have published their very first book collaboration.
Titled “Twenty Days of Canada: Driving Across Canada during the COVID Crisis”, the couple chronicle their road trip across Canada during a historical time, amidst the COVID-19 crisis and the contentious Federal Election campaign in 2021. James and Jaime Lee travelled from their home in Round Hill Nova Scotia to Chilliwack British Columbia and back in a twenty-day whirlwind trip where they were greeted by ever changing travel restrictions, plus people and places they will never forget. This chronicle is filled with passionate reflections about life and is adorned with beautiful artwork by the couple that was inspired by their journey.
“ We combined the visual expression of our experience travelling across Canada with the written reflection of our experience. Writing about our trip across Canada elevated the emotional experience of the trip. As visual artists we tend to focus our creative voice through paintings, drawings, sculpture, and printmaking but recently we decided to explore writing. Combining the written language and the visual language gives a greater breadth of expression and understanding. Writing is one of the truest forms of art; it allows us to reflect on our life experiences and our work as artists." - Jaime Lee Lightle
