"On a Sunny Day", Anna Rail

Anna Rail, batik artist from New Brunswick has a great philosophy; she believes that there is an artist waiting to emerge in each one of us! Having enjoyed telling stories all her life, she does so with paint. “Expressing oneself is fundamental to happiness and well-being”.

Here is something notable about Anna: she is the only artist in this part of the country who batiks exclusively on Japanese paper.

“I use exclusively handmade Japanese paper for this labour intensive technique. The paper's fibres provide exactly the qualities I am looking for: consistency, resistance and flexibility”.

Anna uses flamboyant colours that capture the essence of life without boundaries. Her collection of work will be at Round Hill Studio for the month of July (July 5-31) and you can meet Anna on July 6th from 1-3 PM.
