EWL (Emma Windsor-Liscombe) is a self-named Modern Traditionalist artist, seeking to re-think ancient themes in art while also establishing a place for contemporary subject matter in combination with personal line. Her exhibit, titled "Paper Nature" will be featured this June at Round Hill Studio.
‘Nature’ is an ever-diminishing theme, with over population, global warming, over development and a lack of understanding and/or action on the part of humanity to seriously endeavour to ameliorate these issues. Paper Nature is an on-going series seeking to document on paper endangered species, plants, as well as creatures considered ‘pests’ or simply normal and uninteresting. In so doing the collection places importance upon even the least ‘important’ aspects of nature, in a world where a simple fly might one day be dear to those who now swat them away.
